Thanks for these articles Ghaz! As uncomfortable as self-promotion might feel, I imagine getting left behind when its time for a raise, tenure, and all those less little things that add up to a successful career is far worse.
Ladies - any tips on subtly promoting yourself for those that are still warming up to the idea?
One sneaky way I've discovered to self-promote amongst the people that matter (e.g. bosses) is to elicit their advice in conversation or a quick email. For example:
Hi X,
I was invited to [insert good thing here]. Is it too early in my career to take on this responsibility?
